Description
The Nash Tomb, located approximately 12 metres to the south-west of the south aisle of the Church of St. Laurence, is a chest tomb dating from 1808. It is constructed of ashlar and features two panels on each side and one at each end, all adorned with double incised borders. The tomb includes sunken panelled corner pilasters and has a moulded base and top. The inscription reads: "SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF WILLIAM NASH ESQ WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE FEBRUARY 12 1838 IN THE 60TH YEAR OF HIS AGE." The earlier inscriptions were largely illegible at the time of resurvey.
