Description
The Ramsden Tomb, located approximately 18 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St. Laurence, is a chest tomb dated 1776. It is constructed from ashlar and features octagonal flush panelled sides and ends, adorned with double incised borders. The west side displays a carved heraldic device, and the tomb is supported by cable fluted corner pilasters. It has a moulded top. The inscription reads: "In Memory of Mrs. ELIZABETH RAMSDEN wife of JOHN RAMSDEN Esq of Tavistock Street, Bedford Square, London, who Departed this Life on the 3rd day of Nov 1776."
