Description
The coach house and adjoining outbuilding, located approximately 10 meters to the northwest of Baylis House, date from the mid to late 18th century. The coach house is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and features an interlocking tiled roof that is hipped at the rear. It is a single storey building with gauged brick arches, pilaster strips, a plat band, and a coped parapet on the left side. The right side has a triangular pedimented gable with a moulded wooden eaves cornice and a blocked circular window in the tympanum. The structure has two bays and includes two pairs of large boarded doors; the left door features a depressed relieving arch with impost blocks and a keystone.
The adjoining outbuilding, also from the late 18th century, is similarly made of red brick with stone dressings and has an interlocking tiled roof. This building is also one storey and has a gauged brick window head, along with an open triangular pedimented gable at the front that includes a blocked circular window in the tympanum. There is one round arched casement window on the front. To the right, a short linking wall features a coped parapet and a boarded door. The wall pier to the left is constructed of grey brick with red dressings and has moulded stone coping. This site is included for its group value.
