Description
Godolphin Court, located approximately 40 metres north of Baylis House, is a Grade I listed stable block that has been converted into offices. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and is constructed of red brick with stone dressings, topped by a hipped slate roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring gauged window heads, a plat band, a cornice band, and a coped parapet.
A triangular pedimented gable is situated over the centre two slightly projecting bays, which include a circular window in the tympanum. At the top, there is a central octagonal arcaded cupola with round arches, imposts, keystones, a dentil cornice, and a lead-covered dome topped with a weathervane. The façade consists of eight bays, with first-floor glazing bar sash windows, arched windows in the second and seventh bays, and two central thermal windows. The ground floor features arched two-light casements and two central depressed arches with impost blocks and keystones, along with 20th-century fanlights and glazing, and two glazed doors to the left.
