Description
The Fishery is a building that features a complex of mainly late 19th century or early 20th century extensions, with a core dating back to the 17th century or early 18th century. This site has been noted as an eel-fishery since medieval times and is located by the river. The structure is 2½ storeys tall, constructed of red brick, and topped with an old tile roof. The central section has three bays with later projecting gables. It includes glazing bar sashes in the center and two gabled dormers. The ends of the building feature a range of windows from around 1900, with square bays on the ground floor and a lean-to porch. On the entrance side, there is a kitchen projection to the right, flanking cross wings, and two hipped two-storey projections in the center. The windows have modern glazing.
