Description
Three terraced houses, dating circa 1850, are located on King Street, Southsea. Numbers 72 and 76 have stucco and red brick facades in Flemish bond respectively, while number 74 has painted brickwork. Numbers 72 and 76 have interlocking tile roofs, and number 74 has a Welsh slate roof. There are rendered and brick stacks to the right of numbers 72 and 74, and number 76. The houses are three storeys high with a basement, and each has three bays. A four-panelled door is recessed at the left of number 76, approached by two steps, with a fanlight above, set under a rendered basket arch with a keystone and moulded imposts. Numbers 72 and 74 each have a recessed six-panelled door with a fanlight on their right sides, with number 72’s door beneath a rendered round arch with imposts, and number 74’s door beneath a painted brick round arch without imposts. There is a twelve-pane sash window to the right of number 76 and to the left of numbers 72 and 74, set under a flat rendered arch. Matching sashes windows are present on the first floor, and nine-pane sashes on the second floors. C20 restored attached railings are in front of the properties. The interior was not inspected.
