Description
No. 61 Alma is a terraced house built in 1845, located on King Street in Southsea, Portsmouth. The house is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features an interlocking tile hipped roof with a rendered stack on the right. It has three storeys and a basement, with a single bay.
The entrance on the left consists of a recessed six-panelled door with a fanlight, which is set under a gauged brick round arch adorned with moulded rendered imposts. To the right, on the first floor, there is a 12-pane sash window, each window set under a flat gauged brick arch. On the second floor, there is a 9-pane unequal sash window. The building also features a paired brick dentil band with a stone cap and a coped parapet. Notably, the brickwork is engraved with the inscription "JL & DSL 1845."
