Description

The Diamond Public House is a public house built around 1850, located on King Street in Southsea, Portsmouth. The building features a stucco and tile exterior, topped with a hipped roof made of Welsh slate. It has three storeys and four bays, with the main front facing Norfolk Street.

The ground floor is adorned with brown and yellow plain and moulded glazed tiles and bricks. On the left side, there is a six-panelled door set within a splayed corner to King Street, accompanied by a ten-pane overlight. To the right, there is a pub front casement with a three-light, eighteen-pane overlight. Further to the right are three additional six-panelled doors, each with an eight-pane overlight. Adjacent to the first door is a narrow pub front casement with a two-light, twelve-pane overlight, and next to the second door is a casement and a twelve-pane sash window. All windows and doors are set beneath flat arches with rounded corners and are flanked by panelled Ionic pilasters.

On the first floor, there are four sash windows, including one with eight panes and three with six panes. The second floor also has four sash windows, with the left sash being a twelve-pane unequal design. The left return to King Street mirrors the main façade but is only one bay wide.
