Description

Wilton House is a group of eight terraced houses built around 1830 in stucco. They have Welsh slate hipped roofs and brick or rendered stacks, positioned to the left of number 1 and between numbers 3/5, 5/7, 7/9, 9/11, 11/13 and to the right of number 15. The houses are two storeys and have a basement, with a fourteen-bay facade arranged 1:2:2:2:2:2:2:1. Number 1 projects and forms a right angle to the main terrace. The ground and first floors of number 1 feature twelve-pane sashes with moulded fascias, each set under a flat arch. A three-step approach leads to a four-panelled door with a fanlight and a round arch on the right return at the centre, with sixteen-pane sashes to the left and right and a twelve-pane sash on the first floor. Numbers 3 to 15 each have a two-step approach to a recessed three-panelled door, featuring two moulded upper panels and a lower panel with an incised pattern. Fanlights are radially glazed to numbers 11 and 13, each set under a round arch. To the right, each house has a sixteen-pane sash, except number 7, which has a two-leaf, margin-glazed French casement. The first floor of each house has two similar sashes, except number 15, which has one. Number 7 has a coping, pedimental parapet with a splayed band. The interior has not been inspected. Iron railings run across the front of the properties.
