Description
The Padwick Monument is a chest tomb located approximately 7 meters west of the Church of St Peter and St Paul, dating from around 1830. It is constructed of ashlar and features recessed fluted pilasters at each corner, which have sloping shafts, moulded caps, and bases set on a plinth. The lid has a vertical incised edge and a weathered top slab. On the narrow side facing the church, there is a vase ornament set in a recess with a rounded head. This monument commemorates William Padwick and other members of the Padwick family, although the lettering is generally illegible.
