Description
55, 57, and 59 King Street are three terraced houses built in the mid-19th century. Nos. 55 and 59 are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, while No. 57 is finished with stucco. Each house features a hipped roof made of Welsh slate, with a brick chimney stack located to the left of Nos. 55 and 57 and to the right of No. 59. The houses are three storeys tall with a basement and have three bays arranged in a 1:1:1 pattern.
On the left side of each house, there is a recessed door. Nos. 55 and 57 have six-panelled doors, while No. 59 has a three-panelled door with two moulded upper panels and a flush lower panel that has an incised pattern. Each door is topped with a fanlight set under a gauged brick round arch for Nos. 55 and 59, and a stuccoed arch for No. 57. The doors also feature moulded rendered imposts and panelled reveals, with No. 55 showcasing flanking lion head motifs below the imposts.
To the right of each door, there is a 12-pane sash window on the first floor, set under a flat gauged brick arch for No. 55 and a rendered arch for Nos. 57 and 59. On the second floor, No. 55 has a 12-pane sash window, while Nos. 57 and 59 each have a 9-pane unequal sash window. The interior has not been inspected.
