Description
28 Mill Street is a house built in the early to mid-19th century. It features red brick with dark headers arranged in Flemish bond and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with a symmetrical design centered around a front door that has glazed panels and a three-light overlight. On either side of the door are 16-pane sash windows set within painted reveals, while above the door is a 12-pane sash window. The end elevation includes paired 8-pane sash windows. The front door is sheltered by an elegant openwork cast-iron porch.
Inside, the door leads into a through stair hall, with the staircase located on the left side. Historically, this house was likely constructed on the site of the Home Farm of the Manor House of Newport Pagnell. The grounds and associated properties were auctioned in 1834 and purchased by the descendants of Thomas Pike.
