Description
Church Farmhouse is a farmhouse that was formerly a manor house, dating from the 16th to 18th centuries and has undergone alterations. It is constructed of coursed rubblestone with an old tile roof and is designed in an L-plan. The eastern wing, which dates from the 16th to 17th centuries, has two storeys and an attic. It features coped gable ends on kneelers and a large lateral stack on the east side with a spreading base and two rectangular shafts that are at right angles to the main block. The gable elevation facing south has one bay of stone mullion windows, with three lights in the attic, four lights on the ground and first floors, and a transom on the ground floor, all fitted with leaded lights. The west wing, which is two storeys and three bays, dates from the 18th century and has chimneys on the flanks and adjacent to the east wing. The outer bays contain casements and sashes, while there is a four-panel door from the 19th century in the middle bay. In the angle, there is a 19th-century door leading to a one-storey stone east wing, which has been altered and dates from the 18th century.
