Stony Stratford HORSEFAIR GREEN (South-West Side) No 22

GV II

Former Royal Oak Public House. Early C18, formerly thatched. Two storey roughcast brick house with steep pitched slate roof. Brick verges and high plain kneelers to south-east. Central brick chimney and another at right. Two widely spaced windows with later glazing bar sashes, separated by a narrow blind window, on first floor. Band over ground floor. Two later three light bays on ground floor. Central door with four flush panels and a rectangular light over. Moulded wooden cornice to bays. Roughcast in front; part timber-framed at rear. Back yard with tall brick chimney from washhouse.

No 22 Horsefair Green forms a group with Burnham House and No 34 Silver Street.
