Description
This stable, built around 1800, is located approximately 18 metres southwest of Longueville Court. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a slate roof with tile ridges. The building is a small rectangular structure divided into three bays, which include two stalls and a tack room, separated by internal partitions. There is a loft above, accessed by a ladder.
The facade is one storey high with coursed limestone walls and a half-hipped slate roof. The west elevation faces the yard between the stable and the coach-house, featuring a stable door on the far left, a central two-light casement window, and a plank door on the far right, all with wooden lintels. The south elevation, which faces the yard approach, has a casement window on the ground floor and a loft door above. The elevations facing Longueville Court are blank.
Inside, the stable has stone walls, with one bay of the east wall covered in 20th-century brick, and the walls are finished with wide-plank panelling. The partitions are also made of wide-plank panelling, with earlier fencing visible. There are curved corner seats in the stalls. The stable holds group value with Longueville Court.
