Description

No. 107 High Street is a late 19th-century brick house designed by Swinfen Harris. It features an asymmetric and eccentric design, with two storeys and an attic. The first floor has three windows, and the house is topped with a tile roof that includes a crow-stepped gable on the southeast side and a crested ridge. A panelled chimney stack with protruding draft pipes is present, along with a moulded brick string that drops below the first-floor window on the left and a moulded modillion cornice.

The jettied gable on the right creates the attic space, showcasing pegged timber framing with brick nogging and a moulded bargeboard. There is a two-light casement window, and the cross ridge to the gable is adorned with ornate wrought iron pinnacles at each end. The house features various patterns of casement windows, including some with mullions and transoms, and on the ground floor to the left, there is a pair of casement windows with cusped heads, along with some stone dressings and heads.

The central door has a segmental head and includes a panel with the inscription 'NISI DOMINUS' above it. Tumbled brickwork is visible beside the crow-stepped gable, and the gable end of the southwest extension is decorated with fish tail tile hanging. A terracotta bird on a pot serves as a pinnacle on this extension.
