Description
Hall Farm, formerly known as Little Linford Farm, is a farmhouse that dates from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. It is constructed of coursed rubblestone, with the south elevation partially made of brick, and features plain roof tiles. The south front has four bays, with the left bay extending north to create an L-shaped plan. The building is two storeys high. The south front consists of three stone bays on the left and a chequer brick bay on the right. There is a bay window in the outer bays, a blocked door in the second bay from the left, and a tripartite sash window in the third bay. The first floor has sash windows. The north elevation includes a west wing with extended eaves and a modern dormer. The central door features a stone architraved and pedimented doorcase. Inside, there are features salvaged from Little Linford Hall, including doorcases with lugged architrave surrounds and overdoors, as well as friezes and cornices with wave mould and egg-and-dart designs. There are also chimney pieces, which are noted in the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, Volume II. 179 MON. 2, and are dated to the late 17th century.
