Description
The Cowper's Oak Inn is an inn dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features a brick front with rubblestone sides and rear, topped by a slate roof. The building has three bays and two storeys. A six-panel door is located between the right-hand bays, set within panelled reveals and a doorcase that includes narrow pilasters and an entablature that breaks forward over the pilasters. An inn sign is positioned above the door, which is accessed by five wide moulded stone steps. The windows are three-light, segmental-headed, and feature mullions and transoms with leaded lights. The east gable is adorned with stone copings and shaped kneelers, and there are gable stacks located between the left-hand bays.
