Description
No. 13 High Street is a building that was rebuilt in the 19th century, originally dating back to the 17th century. It is constructed from ashlar stone and features a slate roof with a flat-topped dormer and a moulded wooden cornice. The building has two storeys and a central entrance that consists of a six-fielded panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above it. The door is framed by panelled reveals and a doorcase supported by half-engaged columns, which hold up an entablature with a dentilled cornice.
On either side of the entrance, there are canted bays set on stone bases, with reeded pilasters at the corners and dentilled cornices. The windows on the ground floor are later 19th-century sash windows. The first floor features tripartite sash windows on the sides and a single sash window in the centre, all of which have flat arched heads and keystones. A date stone from 1617 is located in the north gable end.
