Description

Brook End Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone, originally incorporating timber framing. The roof is now covered with modern concrete tiles, and a 17th-century brick chimney stack is located between the two right-hand bays. The front elevation has three bays with casement windows, a door with stone console brackets supporting a cornice, and a secondary door in the left-hand bay. The rear elevation features an outshot to part and a two-storey wing at right angles, dating from the 18th century. This wing shows traces of timber framing and has casement windows, along with an old brick gable-end chimney stack. Attached to the farmhouse are a stone and weatherboarded cowshed and stable.
