Description
A row of houses built in 1736 for the minor canons of Rochester Cathedral. The buildings are constructed of brick with Kent tile hipped roofs. Each house has an entrance and staircase to the left, sheltered under double valley roofs with a large chimney stack on alternating ridges. The houses are three storeys high with a basement containing an area. Each house has a three-window front and a parapet with a dentilled cornice, as well as a plat band separating the floors. The windows are 12-pane hornless sashes with exposed frames, set within rubbed brick flat arches. Doorways are accessed by steps and feature a simple moulded surround, a canopy, a panelled door, and a rectangular overlight. The rear elevation has 2-light casement windows with a transom and glazing bars on the second floor, and 12-pane sashes under depressed window arches on the first floor, with some casements evident.
