Description

No.6, Medway Road is an early 19th-century house. It is constructed of painted yellow stock brick with stone dressings, features a lateral stack, and has a slate hipped roof. The house is built in an Italianate style, with a double-depth plan.

The exterior presents a two-storey and basement facade with a three-window range. It has overhanging eaves, windows set in shallow vertical recesses, and rubbed brick arches. Steps lead to a right-hand segmental-arched doorway recessed in matching brick, which has a plate-glass fanlight and a door with two tall raised panels. The ground floor has round-arched windows, and the first floor has flat-headed windows, all containing 6/6-pane sashes. Two small plate-glass basement windows are also present.

The interior includes a central staircase with stick balusters, panelled shutters and 6-panel doors. The house is one of a group of similarly styled properties located along Medway Road.
