Description
The Strood Conservative Club is a former house that dates from the early 19th century and is now used as a club. The building is constructed of stuccoed brick and features a hipped roof made of Welsh slate, with end stacks. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall.
The front of the building has a symmetrical three-window layout, with overhanging eaves. There are three 12-pane hornless sash windows set in reveals beneath flat window arches. A central porch is supported by Tuscan Doric columns in antis and features a moulded entablature, all set on stone steps. The porch has a half-glazed door topped by a rectangular overlight. On either side of the porch, there are round-headed sash windows that are recessed under round-headed painted brick arches with imposts. A plat band runs along the first floor, and there is a left-hand extension that includes a blocked round-headed arch.
