Description
These are part of a terrace built around 1840. The buildings, numbered 6 to 9, are three storeys high, with a basement, and have a stucco facade. The slate roofs are concealed by a parapet and cornice. The houses are arranged with alternating recesses. The second floor has two recessed windows each, with later sash windows and glazing bars, and block sills. The first floor features one window each, which are tripartite sash windows with later glazing bars. There are Doric pilasters between the window lights, framing a stepped frieze, and a projecting cornice. Stucco shaped brackets support balconies featuring mid-19th century cast iron balustrades. The ground floor has round-headed recessed sash windows with later glazing bars and block sills. The recessed doors consist of four moulded panels, topped with semi-circular fanlights. The door of number 8 is flanked by Doric pilasters and has a moulded arch above it. Numbers 5 to 22 together form a group.
