Description

The Buddle Inn is an 18th-century inn, originally of three bays, extended in the mid-19th century and subsequently refenestrated during the same period. The building is constructed of stone rubble with a slate roof, featuring four brick chimneystacks and terracotta ridge tiles. It has a two-storey, four-window lobby entrance. The front features three mid-19th century six-pane sash windows in moulded architraves, and a large early 20th-century top-opening casement on the right side. A brick and slate weather porch is on the left, and a trellised weather porch on the right. Inside, a large stone fireplace is notable, with a curved wooden bressumer and a chamfered spine beam with lambs' tongue stops. The ceiling originally featured square joists and was plastered over.
