Description

The gatepiers, formerly part of Windcliffe, date from around 1840. They are constructed from square blocks of Isle of Wight stone and stand approximately 8 feet high. The gatepiers feature two courses of rough stones that serve as cornices. They were built prior to the house, which was later constructed further up the hill in a less exposed location.
