Description
This is a late 16th or early 17th century house that has been altered in the early and later 19th century and restored in 1971. It is now subdivided. The north part of the house is brick, while the south part is stuccoed, and both have a tiled roof. The south front is rendered and has two gables, with mostly mid-19th century sash windows. Two early 18th century sash windows with wide glazing bars are located on the ground floor to the left. A brick chimneystack is positioned on the left side. The rear elevation is brick, with a gable on the right, an attic, stone coping, and kneelers. Some of the first-floor windows are 20th century replacements. The ground floor on the right has a bay window. A porch with six flush panels and modified Tuscan wooden columns sits between the two sections. There is a deep stone plinth. The left side of the house is red brick, with three 20th-century casements and diagonally placed brick chimneystacks. A front left-side room retains 17th-century plank and muntin panelling. Inside, there is an early 19th-century staircase with stick balusters, and one room contains a massive spine beam with run-out stops.
