Description

No. 38 South Street is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys high and is constructed of chequered brick. It features a gable end roof covered with old tiles. The façade facing South Street has two recessed sash windows with wooden frames. The mid-19th-century shop front includes a window with widely spaced glazing bars set in a panelled frame, along with a frieze and cornice. The door is blocked, with the entrance located on Town Lane, and it is recessed with a moulded frame and a bracketed hood. There is one window on the Town Lane side, and a stable door entrance to the shop is presented in a plain case.
