Description
Hardingshute Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with an extension added to the right and a parallel range at the rear in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with the original section featuring a deep stone rubble plinth and the extension having a brick plinth. The original house was designed with an end chimneystack and consists of five bays over two storeys and attics, now modified to six bays with three windows. The windows are casement style, with the ground floor windows of the original part having cambered heads. The original centre features a gabled brick weatherporch with round-headed arches on the front and sides, along with built-in seats. The rear wing has casement windows on the first floor and French windows on the ground floor, along with a later gabled weatherporch. Inside the oldest part of the farmhouse, there is a chamfered spine beam, a fireplace with a cambered brick arch, and a stick staircase.
