Description
Little East Standen is a house built in the early to mid 19th century, possibly with an earlier core. It is constructed from Isle of Wight stone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and a slate roof with three clustered brick chimneystacks. The building has an irregular plan and fenestration, consisting of two storeys and attics with three windows. The front displays two gables, one of which projects through both storeys and is topped with stone coping and kneelers. There are three 19th-century cambered mullioned and transomed casements. A projecting gabled porch is located at the center, featuring an arched doorcase. The house has a plinth. It was remodelled around 1900 by Mr. H G Young but is said to have origins dating back to the 17th century. The interior has not been seen.
