Description
Monks Haven Vestry Cottage is a Grade II listed building located on Seven Sisters Road. Originally one property, it features early 19th century alterations to a structure that likely dates back to the 17th or 18th century. The building is constructed of stone rubble and consists of one and two storeys, with Vestry Cottage forming a right angle wing. The gable end of Monks Haven has a slate roof with kneelers and saddlestones at the gables.
On the west front, there are two three-light stone mullioned windows, along with a small single light casement window on the first floor set in a moulded stone surround. The gable end facing the road includes a three-light stone mullioned window with a drip mould. The single storey wing, Vestry Cottage, features two three-light stone mullioned windows from the early 19th century, each with drip moulds. The east end has double gables and an external chimney, along with a pointed arched doorway that also has a drip mould. The building is described as picturesque, and the interior may be of interest. Monks Haven, Maple Cottage, and Vestry Cottage together form a group.
