Description
This is a lamp post located at the east end of Rock Street in Brighton, dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century. It is made of cast iron and another metal. The lamp post features a cylindrical base with a lockable compartment marked "BLEECO." Above the base is a fluted, tapering shaft that culminates in a basket capital. It includes a maintenance yoke and a swan-necked, tubular bracket that is supported by a metal fillet shaped like a tendril. The lamp is equipped with a shallow dish reflector.
