Description
This is a terrace of dwellings, likely built around 1840. The buildings are constructed with stucco over brick, and their roofs and chimneys are hidden behind a parapet. The terrace consists of single-fronted houses, with number 28 bordering number 29 Waterloo Street. The terrace is interrupted between numbers 21 and 22 by the Waterloo Arch. The buildings are four storeys high, with a basement, and have a 1:1 bay arrangement. Most of the windows are full-height, canted bays, with small sash windows containing one vertical glazing bar. Cast-iron balconies are present on most first-floor windows. The ground floors are rusticated, and feature pilaster doorcases with rectangular fanlights. The doors are varied, and mostly date from the 20th century. Cast-iron railings run along the street frontage, returning from the entrances.
