Description

Nos. 6, 6A, 7 and 7A Bond Street are a group of terraced houses, now shops, dating from the early 19th century. They are built of stucco with flint and brick dressings, and have slate roofs, with the roof on No. 7 being asphalted. The properties are three storeys high with attics, and each has one window.

No. 6 retains elements of an early 19th-century shop front, featuring a partly panelled door to the left, overlight, and a bracketed bay window. No. 7 has a similar ground floor arrangement, with architraves and overlights to doors on either side of a bracketed bay window. The first floor has single-storey segmental bays with tripartite windows containing sashes of original design. No. 6 has a replacement flat-arched window on the second floor, while No. 7 has a flat-arched window with 8/8 sashes of original design. A parapet tops the buildings.

The right-hand return is rendered and has sashes of original design facing the front. A gabled wing to the rear, likely dating from the late 19th century, partially blocks the rear elevations of the earlier building. The exposed parts of this rear section are of flint with brick dressings and include a dormer window in the roof. The interior has not been inspected.
