Description

Numbers 41-52 Kensington Place are a group of terraced houses dating from around 1835. They are constructed of stucco with a visible 20th-century tile roof. Each house is two storeys high with one window. The ground floor is rusticated up to a moulded storey band. A flat-arched entrance, with an overlight and minimal doorcase, serves the terrace. Each house has a flat-arched window on each floor, with an Ionic pilaster between the houses, supporting a cornice and blocking course. Party wall stacks are present, though many have been altered. Original cast-iron railings define the area. Number 42 retains sashes of the original design on both floors. Number 44 has windows with quadrant corners. Number 50 features a panelled door and sashes of the original design. The interiors have not been inspected.
