Description
109 and 111 High Street is a farmhouse that has been converted into two houses. It dates from the mid-16th century and has been altered and extended in the 18th century and again in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame that is encased in brick, using Flemish bond at the front and English bond at the rear, topped with an old tile roof that is half-hipped.
The structure is one and a half storeys tall and has three chimneys with corniced heads and clay pots. The entrance front faces south and includes four gabled dormers that break the eaves, each with two-light windows. On the ground floor, there are three two-light windows with segmental brick arches. Between the first and second windows, there are two 20th-century entrance doors, each with small gabled porches. At the rear and in the right-hand angle, there is some old brickwork, likely from the 17th century.
Inside, the timber frame is exposed, showcasing a queen post roof with curved braces.
