Description

The Tench Monument is located in the graveyard 40 yards southwest of the tower on Church Road in Leyton, E10. This monument, likely dating from the late 18th century, is made of Portland stone and features a three-stage design with a square plan. It has a rusticated plinth that bears an inscription and a carved cartouche. The monument includes splayed corner buttresses and a square second stage with scrolled brackets at the corners. The upper stage consists of a squat obelisk.
