Description

A row of artisans' cottages built in 1831. The cottages are constructed of stack brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with slate roofs and brick ridge stacks that define the boundaries between properties. The design is two storeys high, with two windows on each elevation. The upper windows have 9-pane sashes, while the ground-floor windows have 12-pane sashes. Cottages number 283 and 289 feature jalousies on their upper windows. Central cambered doorcases are a characteristic feature.
