Description

Nos 1, 2 (Warwick House), and 3 (Seymour House), Montpelier Row form two significant early 18th-century terrace blocks overlooking Marble Hill Park. The row was built by Captain Gray in 1720. The houses are three storeys and have a basement, constructed of brown brick with red dressings, a parapet, and windows set in frames that are almost flush with the façade. The doorcases are diverse and feature wrought ironwork to the street and areas.

All three houses have been cement-rendered. No. 1 is six bays wide, arranged in a three-bay, three-bay configuration. It features a doorcase with a moulded cornice hood supported by carved brackets and a decorative plaque noting “Montpelier Row 1720”. The original window glazing bars have been removed. No. 2 is three bays wide, and No. 3 is six bays wide, also arranged in a three-bay, three-bay configuration, with doorcases similar to that of No. 1.
