Description

This is an early 18th-century terrace of eight properties, numbered 3 to 12 Sion Road. Each property is three stories high with a basement, and has three windows across the front. The buildings are constructed of brick, with a horizontal band of brickwork marking the second floor level. They have pitched roofs with deep eaves. The windows are square-headed with brick arches above; most retain their original sash windows and glazing bars. Number 11 is stuccoed and has recessed windows, with a rounded top to the ground-floor windows and doorway. The remaining properties have a variety of door surrounds: numbers 12 and 16 have pediments, number 16 featuring a prominent keystone and consoles; number 10 has a rusticated surround, resembling the style of architect James Gibbs, with a heavy keystone; and numbers 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 have cornices only.
