Description

The Wardrobe is a Grade I listed building located at Old Palace Yard, consisting of a long two-storey range featuring eleven irregularly spaced windows on the first floor. The façade is partly constructed from 18th-century brickwork and partly from 16th-century diapered brick with blue headers. It is believed to have originally been part of the servants' quarters of Henry VII's palace. The garden front dates to the 18th century and includes a modillion eaves cornice, with three central bays that are pedimented. Behind the brick exterior, the walls are timber-framed and may date back to the Medieval palace that was destroyed by fire in 1493.
