Description

The Grove is a large house dating from the late 18th century, situated on Lower Teddington Road. The front facade is of brown brick, seven bays wide, with the central three bays slightly forward. A modillion cornice runs along the top of the facade. The roof is slate, concealed behind a shallow parapet and a mansard. A later front extension contains the central entrance. The river front also has seven bays, with the central three bays forming a canted bay. The river facade is brick-faced with a band at first-floor level and a modillion cornice, which supports a shallow parapet over the centre bays and eaves to the sides. A slate mansard covers just the central bays of the river elevation.
