Description
The Church of St Paul, located on Manor Road in Woodford Bridge, was built in 1860 by Charles Ainslie, although some sources suggest it was completed in 1854. This building is designed in the Decorated Gothic style and constructed from grey stone with coursed rubble. It features a nave and chancel that have steep pitched roofs, as well as side aisles supported by shallow buttresses. A tower is positioned on the north side of the west front, equipped with angle buttresses and topped with a stone broach spire. The roof is made of Westmorland slate and adorned with decorative orange ridge tiles. The church suffered damage from a fire in 1880 and was restored in 1886 by William G Bartlett and Son.
