Description
The Brook is an 18th-century house made of brown brick. Originally built as two cottages, it was later reconstructed into a single house. A one-storey studio was added in recent years. The main building has two storeys and features four sash windows with flat arches and cills. The entrance door is adorned with an architrave, a pulvinated frieze, and a cornice hood. There is a string course above the ground and first floor storeys, a parapet, and an old tile roof. From 1901 until his death in 1944, the house served as the residence and studio of Lucien Pissarro, an artist associated with the French Impressionist school.
