Description

40 The Butts is an 18th-century building located in Brentford. It is constructed of brown brick and stands three stories tall. The façade features two double-hung sash windows set in reveals, topped with red brick rubbed flat arches and lacking glazing bars. A notable feature of the building is its impressive doorway, which is framed by fluted Corinthian pilasters and an entablature that includes a carved frieze and a dentil cornice. The doorway has a panelled reveal and an altered six-panel door. On the first floor, the central window has a semi-circular arch and a raised keystone. The building also has a rendered plinth. All the listed buildings in The Butts are part of a group.
