Description
Gell's Almshouses, located at 22 to 26 Swakeleys Road in Ickenham, are a picturesque group of buildings dated 1857. They are constructed of flint rubble with red brick dressings and feature a high-pitched tiled roof with three front-facing gables, with the outer gables being hipped. Half dormers break the eaves between the gables. The structure is two storeys high and has seven windows in total, most of which are mullioned and transomed with square panes. Above each outer door, there is a lozenge-shaped window. The central door is situated under a slab and bears the inscription: "Ickenham Cottages." All openings are topped with flattened Tudor arches.
