Description
The Jubilee Flagpole, located by the south-west corner of St Giles' Church, was erected in 1935 to commemorate the jubilee of King George V. The flagpole features a stone base and is positioned at the foot of the south nave wall, specifically in the westmost bay. It is octagonal in shape, with the alternate angles adorned with oak trees carved in relief, reflecting a late and intentionally rustic Arts and Crafts style. The inscription on the flagpole honors St. George, the patron saint of England.
