Description
The Crown and Treaty Inn, formerly known as The Old Crown Inn, is a 17th-century building located on Oxford Road in Uxbridge. The inn features a two-storey southeast front with five windows, where the second and fourth windows are in full-height canted bays. It is constructed of red brick laid in English bond, topped with a stone-coped parapet. The windows have brick mullions and transoms, and modern leaded casements have been added. The quality of the brickwork is somewhat obscured by modern pointing. The high-pitched roof has had its tiles renewed, and there is a reproduction central door set within a wooden porch. To the left, there is a two-storey extension that is likely from the 18th century. The road end of the building features a Dutch gable and an early 18th-century three-light sash window. The rear view displays three tall chimney stacks, each with three hexagonal shafts above moulded brick cornices.
