Description

The large barn located to the east of Hubbards Farmhouse is likely from the late 16th century and features five bays with an original east aisle. The exterior is weatherboarded and topped with a modern tiled roof. Inside, it has queen strut roof trusses, with later additions of queen posts and a high collar. While the rafters and purlins have been replaced, the lower timbers remain original, except for some added arch braces to the tie beams. This barn, along with the stable to the west, the granary, the stables on the west side of the yard, and the farmhouse, forms a cohesive group.
