Description
Cherry Cottage, part of Ivy Farmhouse, is a house likely dating from the early 16th century, originally designed as an open hall, with extensions at both ends. The building has two storeys and features three irregularly placed windows. The east wing, which projects, is identified as Cherry Cottage. It has a high-pitched tiled roof that is hipped at both ends, with a gablet on the right side. There is an old compound stack located off-centre. The first-floor windows are gabled dormers positioned just above the eaves. The exterior showcases altered exposed timber framing with plaster filling, along with small modern leaded casements and a door that is sheltered under a gabled hood. To the left, there is a lean-to extension. Inside, the house displays much exposed timber, and the roof shows signs of smoke blackening, despite being constructed with side purlins.
